1976 Chevy Blazer Chalet

Whoa, man, this four wheel drive Chevy camper is outta sight! No, really… less than 1800 of these units ever hit the market in the mid-1970’s and you’ll be hard pressed to find one today.

The Chevy Blazer Chalet is a small, factory installed, truck top camper that sports over six feet of head room inside. It’s small foot print measures only 18′ long but still features an ice box, 2 burner stove, 5 gal LPG tank, stainless sink, bed, storage and more.

If you’re thinking this looks kind of familiar, then you’re right. The camper unit built on the Chevy Blazer was designed and installed by Chinook Mobilodge. You can geek out some more on this 70’s bad boy at Keep on truckin’!

And for owners or enthusiasts of the Blazer Chalets or the GMC version, the Jimy Casa Grande, we also have an internet forum at

I’m the #2 moderator there, it’s a free sign-up, members get to use the forum to trade info & restoration tips, plus we have an ever-growing set of photo galleries. About 65+ members own at least one of these. I maintain two ‘for sale’ lists at our forum for the new guys who join to find one of these. My ‘city-only location’ Google map is here:
